Why is Chiropractic important for your child?
Structural (muscle and joint) problems: Bad postural and exercise habits start during childhood. Heavy back packs, sitting and slouching for long hours in a classroom, studying, watching T. V., playing video games, or using the computer are all problematic. Added to that are 1,000+ (world health organization statistics) tumbles falls bumps and bruises we all have by age 13. |
The ability to recover fast and the flexibility of young age absorb all these repetitive and sudden traumas - but not without a price. We all pay that price as early as our twenties and thirties. The transient symptoms appear more frequently and stay with us longer, developing in chronic pain syndromes and disease (postural problems, allergies, arthritis, digestive problems, etc.).
Immunity problems: Some disease appears early on due to an immature immune system. Many such disorders can be managed naturally allowing the child's immune system to mature stronger and in it's proper course without learning to depend on medication. As with all natural treatments it is important to be monitored by a licensed health professional so as emergency care is avoided or administered if needed.

Auto-Immune Disorders |
There is an ongoing debate in health literature and research regarding immunization. Immunization has been linked to increased incidence of autism (in combination with genetic predisposition), and is suspect in the development of several autoimmune and chronic disorders. It is important for every parent to research both sides of the issue and make informed decisions that are best for their child in the environment and populations it is exposed to.
Research also exists possibly linking the early use of antibiotics and the development of asthma. Additional concerns are present regarding the use of anti-inflammatory medication in asthma patients (may worsen symptoms). This information is intended to prompt you to research and discuss treatment options with your health care provider not to discourage use of any prescribed medication.
